What it’s like
The Living Dungeon delivers a frantic, high-stakes experience that feels like a digital tabletop strategy game. It balances two distinct modes: a chaotic multiplayer tournament where up to nine players engage in a battle of wits and skulduggery, and a solitary campaign offering roughly thirty hours of gameplay across numerous missions. The core loop revolves around surviving impossible odds through a mix of combat, agility, and dungeon manipulation. Visually, it presents a gruesome, detailed fantasy aesthetic that complements its brutal difficulty curve. While the multiplayer aspect shines as a defining strength due to its social dynamics and replayability, the single-player campaign is often viewed as secondary, providing structure but lacking the same level of engagement found in the competitive arena. The game’s identity is rooted in its unique blend of luck, strategy, and sheer survivability.

Keep in mind The single-player campaign is widely considered less compelling than the multiplayer experience, potentially feeling like a filler mode for solo players. Additionally, the game's reliance on 'impossible odds' and high lethality may frustrate players seeking a relaxed or narrative-driven adventure rather than a punishing strategic challenge.
