What it’s like
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate reimagines the classic franchise through a fast-paced, roguelite lens, drawing heavy inspiration from Hades. You control one of the four turtles in an isometric, room-based quest to rescue Master Splinter from Shredder’s clutches. The experience prioritizes fluid, visceral hack-and-slash combat over complex narrative depth, offering a satisfying loop of action and progression. While the story serves as a vehicle for gameplay, the writing captures the distinct personalities and brotherly dynamics of the Turtles, anchoring the chaotic action with familiar charm. The game shines in its cooperative multiplayer, allowing friends to dive into the mayhem together across platforms. Visually, it adopts a stylized aesthetic that complements the IDW-inspired continuity, creating a vibrant, energetic atmosphere. Although some rough edges exist in polish and technical stability, the core loop of combat, upgrade variety, and shared chaos delivers a highly engaging, adrenaline-fueled adventure for fans of action roguelikes.
