Synopsis
Stories Untold is a compilation tape of four episodes from the now cancelled series of the same name, including a remaster of the original pilot episode “The House Abandon”.
What it’s like
Stories Untold is an atmospheric anthology of four interconnected interactive short stories, presented as episodes of a fictional 1980s sci-fi horror series. The experience centers on immersion through diegetic interfaces: you interact with simulated operating systems, tape recorders, and computer terminals rather than traditional menus. Each chapter shifts perspective, exploring themes of isolation, technological dread, and existential mystery. The narrative structure is non-linear and deeply introspective, relying on environmental storytelling and cryptic text logs to build tension. While the gameplay mechanics are simple—typing commands to explore and manipulate the simulated environments—the craft lies in the seamless integration of audio-visual design with narrative pacing. The retro aesthetic, complete with CRT filters and synth-wave soundscapes, creates a haunting mood that prioritizes emotional resonance and intellectual curiosity over mechanical complexity or replay value.

Keep in mind The gameplay loop is repetitive and may feel tedious to players seeking varied mechanics or fast-paced action. · As a narrative-driven experience with minimal interactivity, it may not appeal to those who prefer active problem-solving or combat.
