Synopsis
Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising is an action RPG set in the same world as Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. Featuring town-building mechanics, fast-paced combat, and important back-story for several of the Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes cast of characters.
What it’s like
Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising delivers a charming, bite-sized prequel experience that diverges from traditional JRPG structures by blending fast-paced side-scrolling action with robust town-building simulation. You guide the reconstruction of a village devastated by disaster, managing resources and hiring adventurers to restore prosperity while exploring ancient ruins in a linear, dungeon-crawling fashion. The game’s core appeal lies in its cozy, low-stakes atmosphere and pixel-art aesthetic, which evoke a sense of nostalgic warmth and community growth rather than high-fantasy tension. While the narrative serves primarily as a backdrop for the mechanical loop, the tone remains consistently uplifting and focused on restoration. It is designed as an accessible companion piece, offering a relaxed pace where the satisfaction comes from tangible progress in rebuilding and light combat encounters, making it ideal for players seeking a manageable, wholesome adventure.

Keep in mind The combat mechanics are basic and may feel shallow or repetitive to players seeking deep action systems. The linear structure limits exploration freedom, which might disappoint fans of open-world sandbox games.
