Synopsis
Cursed to Golf is a golf-like adventure where every shot counts. Players are tasked with making it out of Golf Purgatory to become a Golfing Legend. With insane hazards, otherworldly power-ups and tons of replayability, will you make it back alive or will you forever be… Cursed to Golf!?
What it’s like
Cursed to Golf transforms the serene sport of golf into a high-stakes, precision-platformer where every swing is a calculated risk. Set in a colorful, pixel-art purgatory, the experience is less about narrative depth and more about mechanical mastery through a roguelite lens. Players navigate increasingly complex, Metroidvania-inspired courses filled with insane hazards and creative power-ups that fundamentally alter ball physics. The core loop revolves around score attack and replayability; as you die repeatedly, you unlock new abilities to tackle the same challenging levels in different ways. While the single-course structure might limit long-term variety for some, the depth of build customization and the tight, responsive controls create a compelling 'just one more try' addiction. The tone is whimsical yet punishing, balancing cute aesthetics with genuine frustration.

Keep in mind The roguelite progression can feel slow or unrewarding if you struggle to unlock key upgrades, potentially making early runs feel grindy rather than fun. Additionally, the chiptune soundtrack, while fitting the aesthetic, has been noted by some players as repetitive and irritating over long sessions.
