The award-winning developer Crytek is back with Crysis 3, the first blockbuster shooter of 2013! Crysis 3 is the ultimate sandbox shooter, realized in the stunning visuals only Crytek and the latest version of CryENGINE can deliver. Available now on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
What it’s like
Crysis 3 delivers a visceral, high-octane sandbox experience set within a lush, overgrown New York City encased in a massive nanodome. The premise centers on Prophet’s return to this reclaimed urban jungle, blending sci-fi action with stealth mechanics. Visually, it is a technical marvel, showcasing CryENGINE’s ability to render dense foliage and detailed environments that contrast sharply with the ruined cityscape. Gameplay revolves around the versatile Nanosuit, allowing players to switch between cloaking, strength, and speed modes dynamically. The introduction of the bow adds a satisfying layer of tactical depth, enabling silent takedowns amidst chaotic firefights. While the narrative is straightforward and lacks significant emotional weight, the core loop of aggressive exploration and fluid combat remains exhilarating. The atmosphere is thick with tension and awe, driven by stunning visuals and immersive sound design that highlight the beauty and danger of nature reclaiming civilization.

Keep in mind The campaign is notably short and linear in structure, offering little narrative depth or character development beyond basic action tropes. Multiplayer modes have received mixed reception for lacking the innovation and polish of the single-player experience.
