What it’s like
Astro's Playroom is a vibrant, compact 3D platformer that functions as both a delightful tech demo and a love letter to PlayStation history. The experience revolves around exploring four distinct worlds inspired by the PS5’s internal components, where every surface feels tactile thanks to the DualSense controller’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. While the narrative is minimal—serving primarily to connect collectibles and unlock abilities—the writing is charming, filled with witty dialogue and nostalgic references to iconic Sony franchises. The gameplay loop centers on precise movement, wall-jumping, and utilizing unique tools in each zone, offering surprising mechanical depth despite its short length. Visually, it boasts a crisp, colorful aesthetic that highlights the console's graphical power, while the audio design is immersive, blending upbeat music with responsive sound effects that sync perfectly with controller vibrations. It is a polished, joyful celebration of gaming heritage.

Keep in mind The campaign is relatively short (approx. 4-5 hours), making it feel more like an extended demo than a full-length title. · Players seeking deep narrative or complex combat systems will find the experience too lightweight and repetitive.
