After losing contact with his explorer friend Virgi, our fearless alien hero Spidy heads to Earth in his spacecraft to find her. While entering the Earth’s atmosphere, his spacecraft suddenly fails and starts to break up, causing Spidy to crash-land on the strange planet, with his craft scattered across forests, throughout ponds and into dark caves. Spidy finds himself alone on an alien world and faces the epic challenge of tracking down Virgi, battling strange new enemies and finding the missing pieces from his spacecraft in order to repair the damage and make their escape home. The stage is set for the adventure of a lifetime as Spidy embarks on a perilous journey through a visually stunning 2D/3D world, where quick reflexes and fast-paced platform action create a fun and rewarding gameplay experience, which is easy to pick up, but challenging to master.

What it’s like

Alien Spidy offers a vibrant, cartoonish platforming experience where you control a spider-like alien crash-landing on Earth. The core loop involves navigating lush, colorful environments to collect scattered spacecraft parts and coins, unlocking boss battles through score benchmarks rather than strict linear progression. Visually, the game shines with its charming 2D/3D aesthetic and cute character designs, supported by an alluring musical score that enhances the whimsical mood. However, the experience is defined by a steep difficulty curve that often clashes with its lighthearted tone. While the exploration encourages backtracking to find hidden items, the platforming mechanics can feel unpolished and lacking in fluidity, leading to frustrating moments. It is a visually appealing adventure that prioritizes charm over mechanical precision, offering a straightforward but occasionally punishing journey for those who enjoy retro-style challenges.

Keep in mind The platforming controls can feel stiff and imprecise, making difficult sections unnecessarily frustrating. · The narrative is extremely thin, serving merely as a backdrop for the gameplay rather than a compelling story.
